Hello again Members,

Welcome to our new look Spring 2010 edition of Relax. I would like to thank each of the members for their ongoing support of the Club and I hope that each of you are as proud as we are of our "Club of The Year" success that was achieved in June. Everything is indeed contextual and I’m sure for many the post amalgamation road has been a long and at times arduous process. For me personally, the last four years have absolutely flown and I have enjoyed every twist and turn in that road. Back in 2006 many promises were made about the future direction of the club and at all times it was communicated that we wanted to be the best we can be. The recent awards for me are evidence that we are delivering, and will continue to deliver, on our promises.

The season kicks off with Father’s Day when we are running an all day brunch menu and there is a small
gift for the first 200 Dads who dine in Aqua. There is
also the opportunity to win Dad a Tooheys hamper or you might even consider taking him to our early evening concert in the Hastings Room where Ron Lemke and other noted Sydney musicians will be performing from 5.30pm onwards.

In early November we launch our change in coffee offerings to a Rainforest Alliance certified coffee bean, along with new equipment and one way service similar to that in Aqua, whereby you place your order at the cash register and then take your seat and let us deliver the order to you at your table. There is lots more detail about this inside.

For each of the months of September and November we bring back a bigger and better version of the Cash or Car promo called "Cash is King". Each finalist will receive a cash prize on that day as well as being in the running for one of six cash prizes on the Major Draw day, with the premium prize on that day being $15,000 cash or a car. Make sure you check this promotion out. Through the course of each four week period we give away $23,000 worth of cash or if you are lucky enough to choose, maybe a car.

Over thirteen weeks throughout this period we are running a massive Tooheys promotion when you have the chance to be to be a winner in a $14,000 cash pot. All you need to do is purchase any of the Tooheys products listed in the Conditions on Page 12, fill out the entry form, place it in the barrel and be present on Friday evenings between 6.30pm and 8pm to have your name drawn out to win your share of the cash prize.

From Sunday 17 through to Sunday 24 October The Westport Club will host a week of Jazz as part of The Port Macquarie Jazz and Blues Festival. We will be showcasing both local artists as well as artists from Melbourne and Sydney, some who have been with us before and others who are making a first time appearance with us.

The Westport Club’s Melbourne Cup activities begin on Saturday 30 October with our Calcutta, and on Tuesday 2 November the big day itself will include all the usual Melbourne Cup day celebration along with sweeps, Fashions on the Field, Punter’s Choice and trivia (two years ago one lucky trivia participant won over $10,000 for answering just one question correctly). If you are looking for the Melbourne Cup luncheon experience
we are selling tickets to a buffet in Aqua for $25
which includes a complimentary glass of champagne
or Tooheys beer on arrival. It is essential that you purchase a ticket for the buffet to avoid disappointment on the day.

The last week of the season finishes with our Mega
Toy Raffle. There will be over $7,000 in raffle prizes to
be won. This is always one of the biggest days of the year at The Westport Club so make sure you get to
the club early to secure your seat. You will be able to pre-purchase raffle tickets from Tuesday 9 November from Reception.
